MHL Membership Information
A membership in the Midnight Homebrewers' League is the best thing you can do with your hobby dollars. If for no other reason, the 10% discount you'll receive from Maryland Homebrew in Columbia will pay for your membership several times over the course of a year.
Then there are our very cool activities, our handsome and beautiful members and Spousal Units with whom you will become comrades in suds, and our world-class chefs who make us the best-fed homebrew club this side of...what's far away?...the Continental Divide! Here are some of the stuff we do, in addition to tastings and meetings:
Annual Big Brew outdoor brewing event to celebrate National Homebrew Day on the first Saturday of May
Brew-Ha-Ha, an outdoor brewing event which happens in July
Maryland Microbrewery Festival Homebrew Demonstration, and Homebrew Competition, in late September at Union Mills Homestead in Westminster
In addition, our club is a member of the Free State Homebrew Guild, which gives our members access to Guild events such as the summer picnic in June, and the holiday party in December, as well as events hosted by other Maryland clubs.
Our members also get to order custom-engraved beer mugs with your name appearing beneath the club logo. The mugs are 12.5 ounce heavyweight glass...see the example to the right. We order new mugs about once every other year or so, when we have a few new members or if current members want to replace broken mugs or add to their collection. They generally cost about $18 each depending on the size of our order.
DUES STRUCTURE for 2023:
We haven't had a dues increase in a long time. In 2016, the club voted to purchase the AHA-sponsored homebrew club liability insurance. This purchase will be paid for each year with a modest annual dues increase of $3.50 per individual, or $7.00 per couple.
Our annual dues are $15.00 for an individual, and $25 for a couple. New members get a bargain! Regardless of the time of year you join, just pay the slightly higher New Members amount shown in the table below (whether by check or PayPal), and you'll be signed up for the rest of the current year plus next year!
